How stock works
Purchases, batches and first in first out.
Stock in Ripbase is never a number you type. It is the sum of what you bought and have not sold yet.
Purchases
You buy from a supplier, and that purchase holds lines: this product, this many, at this cost price. A purchase is Ordered until the goods arrive, and Received when they do. Only a received line is stock.
Batches and FIFO
Every received line is a batch with its own cost price. When you sell, Ripbase takes from the oldest batch first. Buy at €90 and later at €110, sell three, and the cost of those three comes from the €90 batch until it runs out. That is what makes your margin true instead of a guess.
The ledger
Every change is written down: received, sold, returned, written off, corrected. Each entry knows the batch, the order line and who did it. If a number ever looks wrong, the ledger tells you why.
Corrections
Something broken, lost or miscounted goes through Stock, Corrections with a reason. Never fix stock by editing a purchase after the fact; the correction keeps your history honest.
