Sign in with Google

Buyers sign in with their Google account instead of a password. Google only lets an address through that it has verified. Customer accounts must be on: Settings, Accounts.

In Google Cloud

1. Open the Google Cloud Console and make a project for your shop, or pick one you have.
2. Go to Google Auth Platform. The first time, Google asks you to register the app: your shop's name, a support email and your contact address. Choose External, so anyone with a Google account can sign in.
3. Open Clients and press Create client. Pick Web application.
4. Under Authorized redirect URIs, add the Redirect URL from the Sign in with Google card in Apps. Paste it exactly as it is.
5. Create the client and copy the Client ID and the Client secret straight away. Google shows the secret only once.

Publish the app

Open Audience. A new app starts in Testing, and then only the test users you list there can sign in. Everyone else is turned away by Google. Press Publish app to put it In production.

Ripshop only asks Google for a buyer's name and email address, so Google does not have to review your app first. Only showing your own logo on Google's sign-in screen needs a short brand check by Google.

In Ripshop

1. Go to Apps and press Set up on Sign in with Google.
2. Paste the Client ID and Client secret, and save.
3. Open your shop in a private window and sign in with Google once.

When it does not work

• redirect_uri_mismatch. The redirect URL at Google is not the one Ripshop shows. Copy it again from the card. When your shop moves to another domain, the redirect URL changes with it: add the new one at Google.
• Only you can sign in. The app is still in Testing. Publish it under Audience.
• No Google button on your shop. Customer accounts are off, or the card in Apps is not set up.

Buyers who already ordered as a guest with the same address find those orders in their account.
